Terms

Customer Terms

These Customer Terms apply to public registration, Free Trial access, Individual subscriptions, and Business subscriptions for TranslateMe.

The service

TranslateMe is a Desktop Application for real-time speech translation in meetings. You speak, TranslateMe sends active session audio through your selected Translation Provider, and the translated speech is sent back into your meeting.

Accounts and access

Public registration and sign-in are provided through WorkOS. Signing in or downloading the installer does not grant translation access. Access is checked when a Desktop Translation Session starts and requires an available Free Trial credit, an eligible Individual Subscription, or a current Business Membership, active Seat and Seat Assignment, and eligible Business Subscription.

Free Trial, Individual, and Business

Each Identity receives three lifetime Free Trial sessions. A credit is reserved before provider setup. If provider setup fails, the reservation is released. After provider setup succeeds, the credit is consumed before any usable credential is delivered. Credits do not expire or reset.

Individual is for one Identity. Business is for two or more Seats. Each active Seat is linked through one Seat Assignment to an eligible Business Membership. Subscription purchases use a Polar hosted checkout in the browser. TranslateMe does not collect card details in the Desktop Application, and a checkout return or pending payment does not grant access before Polar confirms payment and TranslateMe finishes provisioning.

Subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds

An Individual subscription covers one Identity. A Business subscription covers its purchased number of named Seats. Subscriptions are offered as a monthly term or a prepaid annual 12-month term. If you cancel, renewal stops and access continues through the paid-through date. Cancellation does not create an automatic prorated refund. Exceptional refund requests are considered case by case.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the meetings you join, the language you ask TranslateMe to produce, and whether live translation is allowed. Use TranslateMe only where live translation is allowed, and provide any notice or obtain any consent the meeting requires.

TranslateMe uses a bring your own key model. You provide your own OpenAI or Gemini User-Managed API Key and pay that Translation Provider directly. You are responsible for the API Key's authorization, confidentiality, availability, and provider charges.

Translation Provider use

Translation quality, availability, and provider-side usage limits depend on the Translation Provider connected with your key. TranslateMe can help create the short-lived realtime credential needed for a Desktop Translation Session, but it does not control the provider's service.

Service limits

AI translation may be wrong, incomplete, delayed, interrupted, or unavailable. TranslateMe is not a guaranteed replacement for a professional interpreter and should not be relied on for emergency, legal, medical, financial, or safety-critical decisions. To the fullest extent allowed by law, TranslateMe's liability is limited and does not include indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
